FUNERAL AID · 9,192 RON · WE HANDLE IT

The 9,192 RON funeral aid — we claim it for you

Romania gives families 9,192 RON when an insured worker or retiree passes away. The cleanest way to use it is to sign the right over to us at the first meeting — we file everything with CNPP (Romania's national pension house), they transfer the money to our account in 3 business days, and we deduct it straight from your invoice. For our Essential and Traditional packages, this fully covers the bill. Your family doesn't queue at any office, doesn't fill in any form, and doesn't pay a single leu out of pocket.

What rights assignment is and how it works

Rights assignment is the legal mechanism by which the family transfers to the funeral company the right to receive the aid from CNPP, in exchange for services rendered. It's a procedure regulated by the Civil Code, simple and safe.

At the first meeting with us, the family signs an assignment request (standard form). We add the file with required documents (death certificate, pension stub, etc.) and submit to CNPP. CNPP verifies documents, transfers the amount directly to our account within 2-3 business days. The family doesn't advance any money.

Documents we handle

  • Official death certificate — picked up by us from Civil Status
  • Standard CNPP application for funeral aid
  • Rights assignment power of attorney — signed by family at first meeting
  • Complete file submitted to CNPP — all necessary copies
  • Verification of approval and amount transfer
  • Final invoice provided to family with aid deduction

Cases where the aid doesn't cover everything

For Essential (4,900 RON) and Traditional (7,400 RON) packages, the 9,192 RON aid covers the FULL cost. The family pays zero.

For Premium package (10,900 RON) or customized packages exceeding 9,192 RON, the aid covers the initial portion. The difference (1,708 RON or more) is paid by the family in staged terms — 30% advance, the rest in 3-6 months by contract.

For Cremation package (4,900 RON), the aid covers FULL and there's a remaining amount (4,292 RON) which, via assignment, is NOT refunded to the family — the aid doesn't function as money back, it's only for covering funeral expenses.

For uninsured persons

For uninsured family members of a pensioner (housewife, minor children), the aid is half — 4,596 RON. The Essential package with more accessible casket can be adjusted to fit within this amount. We discuss options with the family.

For persons entirely outside the system (never insured or retired), state aid is not granted. The family pays the chosen package in full. For cases with financial difficulties, we can offer payment staging.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Answers to frequent questions

  • How long until I receive the aid via assignment?

2-3 business days after complete file submission to CNPP. In practice, the file is submitted in the first 24-48 hours after death, and the amount is transferred to us before the ceremony. The family doesn't pay out-of-pocket.

  • What documents do I need for assignment?

Official death certificate, applicant's ID, deceased's pension stub (for retirees), marriage or birth certificate (to prove relationship). We draft the assignment power of attorney and you sign at first meeting.

  • What if CNPP rejects the request?

The family receives a written decision with justification. Common rejection cases: person without insured status at time of death, incomplete documents, amount already paid to another applicant. If rejected, the family pays the package directly (with staging if needed). We can help with appeal at CNPP.

  • Can I use the aid for a Premium package?

Yes, as partial coverage. Premium package costs 10,900 RON. The 9,192 RON aid covers the first portion. The 1,708 RON difference is paid by family — at first meeting we set terms (advance + staging).

  • Assignment means I lose money if the package costs less?

No, but you don't receive the difference as change. Funeral aid is a benefit for covering funeral expenses, not a fixed amount for the family. If the chosen package costs less (e.g., Essential 4,900 RON vs aid 9,192 RON), the difference stays with us as coverage for cases exceeding the aid.
