What rights assignment is and how it works
Rights assignment is the legal mechanism by which the family transfers to the funeral company the right to receive the aid from CNPP, in exchange for services rendered. It's a procedure regulated by the Civil Code, simple and safe.
At the first meeting with us, the family signs an assignment request (standard form). We add the file with required documents (death certificate, pension stub, etc.) and submit to CNPP. CNPP verifies documents, transfers the amount directly to our account within 2-3 business days. The family doesn't advance any money.
Documents we handle
- Official death certificate — picked up by us from Civil Status
- Standard CNPP application for funeral aid
- Rights assignment power of attorney — signed by family at first meeting
- Complete file submitted to CNPP — all necessary copies
- Verification of approval and amount transfer
- Final invoice provided to family with aid deduction
Cases where the aid doesn't cover everything
For Essential (4,900 RON) and Traditional (7,400 RON) packages, the 9,192 RON aid covers the FULL cost. The family pays zero.
For Premium package (10,900 RON) or customized packages exceeding 9,192 RON, the aid covers the initial portion. The difference (1,708 RON or more) is paid by the family in staged terms — 30% advance, the rest in 3-6 months by contract.
For Cremation package (4,900 RON), the aid covers FULL and there's a remaining amount (4,292 RON) which, via assignment, is NOT refunded to the family — the aid doesn't function as money back, it's only for covering funeral expenses.
For uninsured persons
For uninsured family members of a pensioner (housewife, minor children), the aid is half — 4,596 RON. The Essential package with more accessible casket can be adjusted to fit within this amount. We discuss options with the family.
For persons entirely outside the system (never insured or retired), state aid is not granted. The family pays the chosen package in full. For cases with financial difficulties, we can offer payment staging.
