FUNERAL FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS

Funeral flower arrangements

Funeral flower arrangements are the flowers chosen for the wake, the service, and the burial — sprays, bouquets, casket and catafalque arrangements. Flowers say what words sometimes cannot. We prepare them with care, by tradition and the family's wishes. For larger round wreaths to place at the graveside, see our [funeral wreaths page](/coroane-funerare/).

What funeral flower arrangements are

Funeral flower arrangements include all the flower compositions used at a ceremony — from the spray laid on the casket, to the bouquets brought by close ones. They are a form of respect and farewell.

We choose the flowers and the form together with the family, considering tradition, the season, and what the loved one would have liked.

Types of arrangements

  • Funeral spray — laid on the casket, the most common form.
  • Funeral bouquet — brought by relatives and close ones.
  • Casket arrangement — a larger composition, on the lid.
  • Catafalque arrangement — for the chapel or the wake location.
  • Flower basket — an alternative to a spray or wreath.

Which flowers are chosen

Most often chrysanthemums, carnations, lilies, roses, and gerbera. White and yellow chrysanthemums are the traditional funeral flowers in Romania. Roses are chosen when the message is deep love — for parents, spouses. We help you choose appropriately.

Difference from wreaths

Funeral wreaths are circular, larger compositions, usually placed beside the casket or at the grave. Flower arrangements are more varied in form — sprays, bouquets, baskets. You can combine them. For wreaths, see our dedicated wreaths page linked above.

How to choose the right arrangement

The ceremony venue matters. In a small chapel, one well-placed catafalque arrangement and a casket spray are sufficient. In a large church, two or three flanking arrangements prevent the space from feeling bare.

Your relationship to the deceased is equally important. A heart arrangement or casket spray signals close family. A condolence bouquet or table arrangement suits colleagues and friends attending in person. If you cannot attend — common for diaspora families traveling from abroad — a wreath or casket spray delivered directly to the chapel carries the same weight without requiring your physical presence.

How to order — real timelines

Standard order: call or WhatsApp us at least 24 hours before the service. We confirm the type, flowers, and delivery address. The arrangement arrives at the chapel or church 1-2 hours before the ceremony starts.

Urgent cases: we accept same-day orders for arrangements in stock (sprays, bouquets, baskets). Call us — we tell you immediately what we can prepare.

Ordering from abroad: many families in Italy, Spain, Germany, or the UK arrange flowers by phone or WhatsApp while traveling to Bucharest for the ceremony. Tell us the chapel address, the service time, and any ribbon message you want. We handle everything and confirm delivery by message. Our ceremony organization service handles all coordination in parallel.

Ribbon message: included at no extra cost. We print it on a standard black-and-white satin ribbon. Common wordings: 'From the family of...', 'With love', 'Farewell, dear mother'. You dictate the text, we apply it.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

What families ask about funeral flowers

  • Which flowers are given at a funeral?

Most often chrysanthemums (white or yellow, the traditional ones), carnations, lilies, roses, and gerbera. The choice depends on tradition, the season, and the relationship with the loved one. We help you choose appropriately.

  • What is the difference between a spray and a wreath?

A spray is an elongated composition, laid on the casket. A wreath is circular, larger, placed beside the casket or at the grave. You can combine them; for wreaths we have a dedicated page.

  • How much does a funeral flower arrangement cost?

It depends on the type, the flowers, and the size. We present the options and prices clearly, before any commitment. We can fit the arrangement to the family's budget.

  • When should the flowers be ordered?

Ideally a day before the ceremony, so they're fresh. In an emergency, we handle it faster. Call us and we arrange it together.

  • Can you deliver the arrangement to the chapel or church?

Yes. We deliver the arrangement to the wake location, the church, or the cemetery, at the agreed time, in Bucharest and Ilfov.

  • Can I put a personalized message on the ribbon?

Yes, always. We print the text you give us on a satin ribbon attached to the arrangement — at no extra cost. You can dictate the message by phone or WhatsApp. There is no character limit; for longer dedications we use a wider ribbon.

  • How long do fresh flower arrangements last?

With proper care — kept in floral foam with water, away from direct sun and heat — fresh arrangements last 5-7 days. At the cemetery, plan to replace them after one week. For grave-side use beyond that, artificial flower compositions are a practical alternative.
