What goes into the estimate and what varies
The cost of a funeral in Romania depends on four things: the base package (casket, body preparation, transport, ceremony), products chosen separately (wreath, monument, urn), the memorial meal, and the burial plot. The calculator adds the package and the main options, then subtracts the 9,192 RON funeral allowance, so you see the indicative balance due directly.
The estimate is a starting point, not a firm quote. A few costs vary from one locality to another and can't be captured exactly: the priest's and church's fee, the price of a new burial plot concession, cemetery fees. For insured or retired people, the basic packages usually fit entirely within the allowance — the family doesn't advance any money.

How accurate is the cost calculator?
It gives a good indicative estimate for the package and main options. Costs that vary locally — the church fee, a new burial plot concession, cemetery fees — can't be captured exactly by a calculator. For a firm figure, call us; the consultation is free.
Does the estimate include the funeral allowance?
Yes. The calculator automatically subtracts the 9,192 RON allowance and shows the indicative balance due. For insured or retired people, the basic packages usually fit entirely within the allowance, via assignment — the family pays nothing out of pocket.

Can I use the calculator for cremation too?
Yes. Choose the cremation package and the calculator estimates the corresponding cost. Cremation removes the need for a new burial plot, and the urn can be buried or kept in a columbarium.
Why isn't the burial plot price in the estimate?
Because it varies widely between cemeteries and localities. If the family already has a concession, the cost disappears. We estimate it separately, once the chosen cemetery is known.
