What the cost of cremation covers
The cost of cremation brings together several elements: the fee paid to the crematorium, preparation of the deceased, a compatible lightweight wooden coffin, the urn, and transport. A complete package combines all of these at a lower price than a burial with a new plot.
The main difference from burial is that you no longer need a new plot and a monument — costs that can far exceed the rest. For the full comparison, see cremation vs. burial.
