For a pensioner, the funeral allowance (9,192 RON in 2026) can cover the funeral package in full or in part. With the pension slip as proof and an assignment-of-rights request, the Pension House transfers the sum directly. The family does not pay out of pocket first for the package that falls within the allowance.
The pension slip proves the deceased held pensioner status. Together with the death certificate and the applicant's ID document, it completes the funeral allowance claim file submitted to the Pension House.
Through an assignment-of-rights request, the sum is transferred directly to the funeral home within a few working days. You do not pay first and wait to be reimbursed.
