Why urn prices vary

Urn pricing starts with the material. Classic urns in wood or metal are affordable and are generally included in the cremation package. Premium urns in marble, ceramic, or bronze cost more.

Craftsmanship also matters — a handmade artistic piece costs more than a mass-produced one. The full range by material and type is in the table below.

The urn in the cost of cremation

For cremation, a classic wooden urn is generally included in the package at no extra charge. The family pays additionally only if a premium model is chosen.

The urn is handed over after cremation along with the certificate. For storage in a columbarium, a separately obtained niche at the cemetery is required.

What determines the price

Material is the main factor. Wood and basic metal are affordable; marble, bronze, and artistic ceramic are premium. A handcrafted urn costs more than a mass-produced one.

Craftsmanship and personalisation add to the price. Engraving, painted patterns on ceramic, and metal nameplates increase the cost. Dual urns for two people cost more than single ones.

To choose the right model, see the pages on classic urns and premium urns.

How to choose an urn based on its intended use

For home display or a visible columbarium niche, many families choose a premium urn in marble, bronze, or ceramic as a memorial object.

For burial in a plot or for scattering the ashes, a classic wooden urn or a biodegradable urn is sufficient and more affordable.

Standard capacity covers the ashes of one adult. For spouses, a dual urn with two compartments keeps them together.

The urn in the total cost of cremation

The total cost of cremation includes the crematorium fee, our services, and the urn. The classic urn is included in the package, so it does not appear as a separate expense for the family.

If columbarium storage is chosen, the niche concession paid to the cemetery is added. Scattering or burial in an existing plot does not incur an additional urn cost.
