On sobru.ro you can publish a memorial for someone you love, free of charge: a few words about their life, with a photo if you wish. We read it carefully before it appears, then publish it on our Obituaries page, where people who knew them can leave a message for the family.

For Christians, to remember the departed is to remember them before God, in prayer. You can end your words with a short prayer and ask for their name to be read in church. In every faith, a memory kept with love is never lost.

    Call 0739 592 835, at any hour. We will listen without rushing you.

  2. Tell us what you would like us to write

    Their full name, the date of death and a few lines about who they were. You can start from a template and make it your own with your memories.

  3. Send a photo, if you wish

    A clear portrait from the family album, by email to contact@sobru.ro. The photo is optional.

  4. The memorial appears on our Obituaries page

    We read it carefully, publish it on our Obituaries page and let you know when it is online.

About publishing a memorial

  • How much does it cost to publish a memorial on sobru.ro?

    Nothing. Publishing a memorial is free, and so are the messages that visitors leave. You do not need an account.

  • How soon will the memorial appear online?

    We read every memorial before it goes live, to make sure it is written with respect. It appears once we have read it, and we email you the moment it is online.

  • What kind of photo can I send with the memorial?

    One photo, as a JPG, PNG or WebP file, sent by email to contact@sobru.ro. A clear portrait works best. The photo is optional. Please only send a photo you have the right to share, such as one from the family album.

  • Can I change or remove the memorial later?

    Yes. Email us at contact@sobru.ro or call 0739 592 835 and tell us what you would like to change. We will correct the text or take the memorial down at the family's request.

  • Who can publish a memorial?

    A relative of the person who died, or someone who has the family's consent, such as a friend, a neighbour or a colleague. You confirm this with us on the phone, and we keep that consent on record with the memorial.

  • What can visitors do on the memorial page?

    They can leave a message for the family. Messages appear once we have read them, just like the memorial itself.

  • Will my name, email or phone number be published?

    No. Your contact details never appear on the page. We use them only to let you know when the memorial is published, or if we have a question about it. The page shows the text, the photo and the signature you choose, for example “The Popescu family”. More in our privacy policy.

  • Can I write a memorial for someone who died many years ago?

    Yes. There is no time limit. You can write it whenever it feels right: forty days after the death, on the anniversary, or on their birthday.
