Steps when death occurs at hospital

The attending doctor certifies the death and issues the medical death certificate. The deceased is transferred to the hospital morgue, where they can generally remain for a period at no extra cost.

The hospital may ask you to choose a funeral house. You have the full right to choose whoever you wish — this right is protected by law, and we help you exercise it calmly.

Your right to choose the funeral house

No hospital and no staff member can impose a particular funeral firm on you. Directing families toward a specific provider is prohibited. You decide who picks up and organizes.

If you feel pressure in this regard, tell us — we explain your rights exactly and take over the situation.
